Trucks carrying 5 ton coal illegally seized in Sivasagar
Guwahati, August 26 (NKTV): The Transport Department in Sivasagar seized two dumper trucks that were carrying five tons of coal illegally.
The trucks, bearing registration number AS 01 MC 1486 and AS 01 MC 1495, were transporting the coal for a businessman named Deepak Agarwal. Officials have informed that the coal was being transported from Nagaland.
It has been alleged that such transportation of coal is not a new affair in the region and such trucks have been plying in front of Bihubar and Simaluguri Police Station since a long time. However, no action has been seen from Sivasagar Police against the same.
Numerous businessmen have been transporting coal using counterfeit documents.
On August 20, the Income Tax Department had filed a case against one Phulkaan Ali for tax evasion. One CA and three brokers have been arrested in relation to the same.
