Tense Night in Samaguri’s Shivasthan After Brutal Assault on Three Youths

A minor verbal altercation on the road escalated into a violent group attack in Shivasthan area of Samaguri last night, leaving three youths seriously injured.

According to police sources, three youths — Deepjyoti Saikia, Dipankar Saikia, and Pabitra Saikia — were allegedly attacked by a group of around 10 youths with iron pipes. The victims are residents of Shivasthan Gohguri and had gone out in the evening for marketing.

The three arrested attackers have been identified as Abubakkar Hussain, Ikramul Hussain, and Mukhsidul Haque. All three belong to the same family. Seven other attackers managed to flee the spot when police arrived.

Police took all six individuals (three victims and three accused) to the police station. However, the situation turned even more chaotic as the victims were allegedly attacked again inside the police station.

The three arrested persons have been detained, and a search operation is underway to nab the remaining attackers. Police suspect the assailants were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
