A suspected cadre of ban outfit ULFA(I) was arrested in Panjabari area of Guwahati on 12th May. The Police had arrested suspected cadre near Little Angel school in Panjabari VIP road. The arrested suspected cadre was staying in rent at Amin Ali’s house from where he he was arrested.
According to sources, the arrested cadre has been identified as Kangkanjyoti Bhuyan and he use extort money in name of ULFA(I). The suspected cadre had asked 50 lakh rupees from a established businessman of Athgoan and the businessman lodged a complaint to Police and was later arrested.
The raid was conducted under DCP of Crime Branch Varun Purkayastha and his team. The Police has started interrogation and the initial investigation is going on regarding the matter.
