The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has reported significant progress under Special Campaign 5.0, aimed at institutionalizing Swachhata, enhancing efficiency, and reducing pendency across its offices and media units nationwide.

According to the Ministry, the implementation phase of the campaign, which began on October 2, has already yielded notable results. The Ministry said around 1.43 lakh kilograms of scrap have been disposed of, generating revenue of Rs 34.27 lakh and freeing up approximately 8,007 square feet of space. About 13,900 physical files were reviewed, with 3,957 files weeded out, while 585 e-files were examined and 165 closed.

In addition to these efforts, the Ministry disposed of 301 public grievances, 57 public grievance appeals, 16 references from Members of Parliament, two state government references, and one reference from the Prime Minister’s Office, the statement said.

Officers from the Ministry were deputed to various field offices to oversee the progress of the campaign and ensure timely completion of action points.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to achieving the objectives of Special Campaign 5.0, emphasizing cleaner workplaces, increased productivity, responsible e-waste management, and timely disposal of pending matters. These efforts, it said, contribute to the nation’s cleanliness, sustainability, and institutional efficiency.
