Kamrup Metro District Administration has announced a change in school timings for all Government, Provincialised, and Private schools due to the ongoing rise in temperatures and extreme heat conditions. As per the directive from the District Commissioner, the revised timings will be effective from Wednesday, 11th June 2025, and will continue until Monday, 16th June 2025.
The new school hours are as follows:
- Lower Primary (L.P.) Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
- Middle English (M.E.) Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon
- High School and Higher Secondary Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
Schools have been advised to hold morning assemblies indoors or in shaded areas and to strictly avoid any outdoor activities during this period.
To ensure students remain hydrated, schools must ring 3 to 4 “water bells” during school hours and provide adequate drinking water facilities. Additionally, all fans must be in working condition, and classrooms should be properly ventilated.
This order has been issued in the interest of public health and student safety and is to be implemented with immediate effect.
