In a historic moment for Assamese cinema, Late Zubeen Garg’s Roi Roi Binale has achieved a remarkable milestone by releasing in 17 theatres across Bangalore — a record number for any Assamese film in the city.
Typically, Assamese movies are screened in just two or three theatres such as Vega City, Phoenix Marketcity, and Nexus Shantiniketan. However, this time, the overwhelming response from the Assamese community in Bangalore has led to a massive expansion, with all 17 theatres going housefull.
Recognising that Bangalore hosts the largest Assamese population outside Assam, the film’s producer Shyamantak Gautam made every possible effort to ensure that people from every corner of the city could experience the film on the big screen.
The unprecedented turnout and enthusiasm reflect the growing reach and pride of Assamese cinema beyond the state’s borders, marking Roi Roi Binale as a landmark release for the industry.
