The Guwahati Sports Association’s (GSA) B and C Division Football Leagues 2025–26 witnessed exciting encounters at Nehru Stadium on Saturday, with Rising Eleven Club and New Star Club emerging victorious in their respective matches.
In the B Division League, Rising Eleven Club edged past Sporting United Club 1–0 in a tightly contested match at Ground No. 1. The decisive moment came as early as the 7th minute, when Chichang M. Momin (jersey no. 20) found the back of the net. His impactful performance also earned him the Player of the Match award, presented by Sri Chaya Ram Boro, Life Member of GSA.
Meanwhile, the C Division League clash at Ground No. 2 turned into a one-sided affair as New Star Club outclassed Chandmari Sports Club 6–1. Matik Ali (10) led the charge with a hat-trick, scoring in the 24th, 35th, and 47th minutes. He was ably supported by Rahul Ali (07), who netted twice in the 31st and 51st minutes, while Sourav Das (15) added another in the 75th minute. Chandmari Sports Club managed a consolation through Himangshu Hazarika (03) in the 41st minute. For his double strike, Rahul Ali was named Player of the Match, receiving the trophy from Sri Anna Kr. Swargiary, Executive Member of GSA.
The leagues will continue on Sunday with more action at Nehru Stadium. In the B Division, Young Amateur Club will take on 91 Yards Club at 2:45 PM on Ground No. 1, while in the C Division, Pragjyotishpur FC will face Guwahati United FC at the same time on Ground No. 2.
