Navajyoti Club Crowned Champions of GSA Cricket League 2024–25
Navajyoti Club emerged champions of the Guwahati Sports Association’s Qualifying Round Cricket League 2024–25, defeating FC Green Valley by 8 wickets in a thrilling final held at Nehru Stadium on Thursday.
FC Green Valley, batting first, posted 74/10 in 16.5 overs. Sanjay Basfor (27 off 25), Rupjyoti Kalita (21 off 25) and Nabajyoti Hazarika (11 off 11) were the main contributors with the bat. Navajyoti’s bowling attack, led by Chanekya Sarma, dismantled the opposition with a brilliant spell of 4/10 in 3.5 overs. Harshit Pratim Das (3/10) and Jintu Kalita (1/4) supported well.
In reply, Navajyoti Club chased down the target with ease, scoring 75/2 in 11.5 overs. Ranjit Changmai top-scored with a solid 35 off 37*, while Amit Boro added 18 off 13.
With both bat and ball making significant impacts, several players were honoured at the closing ceremony.
