Modi, Xi Hold Bilateral Talks on India-China Relations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, reviewing the full range of India-China relations.
PM Modi stressed that peace and tranquillity along the border are essential for the continued development of bilateral ties and called for adherence to existing agreements on border issues.
Both leaders welcomed the steady progress in relations since their last meeting in Tianjin in August 2025 and reaffirmed their commitment to resolving the boundary issue through dialogue.
Xi Jinping said India and China can “fully learn” from each other’s strengths, support one another and pursue common development. He also called for greater cooperation between the two major Global South nations.
PM Modi also conveyed India’s best wishes to China ahead of its upcoming BRICS presidency next year.
