Collegium Recommends Assam-Born Justice Manas Ranjan Pathak for Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of Assam-born Justice Manas Ranjan Pathak as the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court. He is currently serving as a judge of the Gujarat High Court.
The Collegium has recommended four judges for appointment as Chief Justices of different High Courts.
As per the recommendations, Justice P. Sam Koshy of the Telangana High Court has been proposed for appointment as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty of the Calcutta High Court has been recommended as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, while Justice Sudhir Singh of the Patna High Court has been proposed as Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.
The Collegium’s recommendations have been forwarded to the Union Ministry of Law and Justice for formal approval by the Central Government.
The appointments will be finalised following the completion of the required approval process.
