Karun Nair continued his impressive run in First-Class cricket with a commanding double century for India A against England Lions in the opening unofficial Test at Canterbury on Saturday.
This knock marked Nair’s second double ton on English soil, following his unbeaten 202 for Northamptonshire against Glamorgan in 2024.
Nair, one of only two Indian batters alongside Virender Sehwag to have scored a triple century in Test cricket, has once again underlined his red-ball credentials.
Saturday’s innings was also his best for India A, surpassing his previous top score of an unbeaten 114 against South Africa A back in 2015.
This is the fourth instance of Nair reaching the 200-run milestone in First-Class cricket. His highest remains an astonishing 328 for Karnataka against Tamil Nadu during the 2015–16 season. Notably, he has remained not out in two of his previous three double-century efforts.
