IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers has reached the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) office to present a “full report” on flight disruptions. The meeting comes on a day the airline announced it was offering vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to ‘severely impacted customers’.
IndiGo will outline the main causes of the disruption and the steps taken to address them. This includes progress on restoring flights, hiring plans for pilots and cabin crew, refunds for affected passengers, the return of stranded baggage, timely communication with travellers, and arrangements for re-routing those impacted by cancellations.
The government has directed IndiGo, which commands nearly 65 per cent of India’s domestic market and operates more than 2,300 daily flights, to cut its winter schedule by 10 per cent. It is set to conduct 1,950 flight operations a day under the revised norms.
