Indian team for NZ Test series announced, Rahane to lead the 1st test

The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the Indian team for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand. Test team’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian side in the first test, while Virat Kohli to take rest in the initial match but will join the team for the second test.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has been rested for the test series. The first test will be held from 25th November at Kanpur and the second test will be held from the 3rd of December in Mumbai.

Here’s the Indian squad: Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Md. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.
