The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) staged a two-hour sit-in protest demonstration in front of Bodoland University today in Kokrajhar on demand of appointment of the regular registrar in Bodoland University.
The demands of the student union included stopping any major decision prior to the appointment of the regular registrar, the expulsion of existing vice-chancellor Prof Laishram Ladudingh for his act of all unilateral and dictatorial decisions, and administration.
Hundreds of students union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha members holding banners, placards participated in the protest demonstration. ABSU president Dipen Boro, General Secretary Khanindra Basumatary also took part in the protest demonstration. ABSU has also demanded the early formation of University court meetings.
