Historic Milestone in CRPF’s 47-Year History! No Personnel Killed in Operational Duties for 12 Consecutive Months

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has achieved a significant milestone in the field of India’s internal security. After a gap of 47 years, the force has recorded a rare achievement, with no personnel losing their lives in operational duties for 12 consecutive months despite being deployed in various challenging operations across the country. This is the first such achievement in the CRPF’s history since 1979.

CRPF Director General (DG) Gyanendra Pratap Singh announced this historic achievement through social media. According to the information shared by him, the last CRPF personnel to die in an operation was on October 30, 2025. Since then, up to October 30, 2026, not a single personnel has lost their life in operational duties over a continuous period of 12 months.

Highlighting the achievement on his X handle, DG Gyanendra Pratap Singh described it as a significant milestone in the history of the CRPF. He said that achieving such a record for the first time in 47 years was a matter of great significance for the force.

According to the CRPF Director General, several important factors contributed to this remarkable achievement. In particular, three key aspects have played a significant role in ensuring the safety of personnel.

First, personnel have been equipped with modern weapons, advanced technology and better-protected vehicles. These improvements have helped reduce their exposure to potential risks during operations.

Second, improved training and precise strategic planning have made operations safer and more effective. Better planning at the ground level, taking into account changing situations, has helped minimise operational risks.

Third, improved medical facilities and rapid evacuation arrangements have played a crucial role in saving lives. Whenever an encounter or any untoward incident takes place, injured personnel are promptly shifted to advanced medical facilities through air ambulances. This has helped save the lives of many personnel.

Notably, this achievement has not been recorded in peaceful surroundings. The CRPF has achieved this milestone while remaining actively deployed in some of the country’s most sensitive and challenging operational areas.

At present, CRPF personnel are engaged in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir, and maintaining law and order in the northeastern region. Personnel of the force continue to perform their duties round the clock across different parts of the country.

The force has also successfully carried out several significant and decisive operations in these areas.

This historic achievement once again highlights the importance of the steps taken by the force towards modernisation, improved training and enhanced personnel safety. Completing 12 consecutive months without a single operational fatality is a significant accomplishment for the CRPF.

CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh reiterated that the force remains fully committed to ensuring the country’s internal security and maintaining a safe and peaceful environment for its citizens.
