High-Level Committee Meeting of Asam Sahitya Sabha in Jorhat Today to Discuss 2027–29 Elections

A high-level committee meeting of the Asam Sahitya Sabha is scheduled to be held today at the Chandrakanta Handique Bhavan in Jorhat to discuss the organisation’s 2027–29 elections.

The election schedule and guidelines of the Asam Sahitya Sabha are expected to be announced today. More than 700 branch units are set to participate in the election process.

The seven-member high-level committee will prepare a shortlist of five candidates today. Elections will be held for the posts of President, Vice-President and General Secretary.

The committee will forward the list to the branch and district Sahitya Sabhas for further proceedings.

The high-level committee meeting is scheduled to begin shortly.

The committee comprises seven members, including a distinguished member, a Sahityacharya, former office-bearers, and the present President, Vice-President and General Secretary of the Asam Sahitya Sabha.
