Guwahati sets the stage for Post Malone’s concert as Assam Tourism Development Corporation partners with BookMyShow Live to strengthen the Northeast’s live entertainment ecosystem

In a landmark moment for the Northeast’s live entertainment landscape, senior representatives from the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), Government of Guwahati, Guwahati Police and city authorities alongside BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment division of BookMyShow, came together to outline the city’s comprehensive preparations to host Post Malone’s debut Northeast performance on December 8th 2025 at Khanapara Veterinary Ground in Guwahati, Assam, marking his first performance in the region. The solo headline show is produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live and Live Nation in collaboration with the Government of Assam.

On the back of the MoU between BookMyShow and Assam Tourism, Post Malone’s exclusive Guwahati performance marks the first major milestone of the partnership, opening the doors for more national and international acts and strengthening the region’s live entertainment ecosystem.

In the lead-up to what is expected to be one of the largest live entertainment events ever staged in the Northeast, the authorities and promoters outlined a comprehensive multi-agency plan to manage every aspect of the concert from crowd control and traffic management to emergency response and fan experience. This unified approach underscores a strong collaboration between public institutions and private partners working collectively to deliver a seamless world-class event.

A total of 15 designated parking locations have been arranged for the event, supported by a deployment of 1,300 police personnel across law and order and traffic management. The Guwahati Government Fire Services will be providing extensive assistance, including one rescue van, two fire engines and an additional team of 30 fire marshals to supplement on-ground safety operations. The Government Public Health Department will further strengthen medical preparedness by enhancing first-aid rooms with additional resources and personnel. All operations will be supported by a unified Venue Operations Centre that brings all agencies under one command for real-time coordination, with more than 100 CCTV cameras monitoring the concert grounds.

The safety and operations plan has been developed in partnership with global experts Momentum India, whose extensive experience in managing large-format international tours and high-density crowd environments has helped create an operational model that meets international standards while being tailored to the scale and dynamics of Indian audiences.

A comprehensive medical plan has been developed in collaboration with Health City Hospital featuring ambulances, a complete ICU setup for critical situations, First Aid Rooms, a Mother Tent and onsite medical camps designed to respond to high-density crowds.

The tour’s production, led by BookMyShow Live, has been crafted to bring an authentic world-tour experience to fans in Guwahati. The venue features a global-standard setup with over 300 intelligent lighting units for powerful visuals, exceptional audio clarity with uniform coverage across all audience zones and full LED and special-effects support as required by the international touring team. An extended thrust runway and a dedicated stage positioned close to the General Admission section create more opportunities for dynamic artist–fan interaction. To elevate the experience further, the show also features large-scale pyrotechnics and flame effects, used at key moments with complete safety compliance.

BookMyShow Live’s commitment to sustainability also forms a critical pillar of the event. The promoter has implemented a sustainability-first framework that includes plastic-free operations, waste segregation and upcycling, hydration centres across the venue and the reuse of rice husk cups. Excess food from the event will be donated through verified local partners. The event will also feature a dedicated Welfare Station – a calm, inclusive space staffed with trained professionals to assist fans who may feel anxious, overwhelmed or distressed. Additional on-ground services such as a Helpdesk, Tag Your Child counters and a Lost & Found desk, water distribution near the barricade and stage will further ensure a comfortable, safe and seamless experience for all attendees.
