Guwahati gears up for its first-ever Kids Obstacle Race ‘Junior Circuit’

Guwahati is all set to witness its first-ever junior obstacle race, ‘Junior Circuit’, an experiential event designed for children and parents, on March 29 at the Arya College Playground.

Organised by the Culture Club – preschool and powered by House of Play, the event is aimed at promoting physical activity, confidence-building, and family bonding among children aged 3 to 15 years. Unlike conventional races, the event will be non-competitive in nature, with no rankings or timers, focusing instead on participation and completion.

The obstacle course, spread across approximately 900 to 1000 metres, will feature 15 purpose-built challenges, including crawling tunnels, balance beams, and cargo nets. Parents will participate alongside their children, making it a shared physical experience rather than a spectator-driven activity.

Nikhil Mozika, Founder of Culture Club – preschool, said that the initiative seeks to create meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. “We believe children learn best through real-life experiences. Junior Circuit is designed to help them build confidence, develop resilience, and enjoy the process of overcoming challenges with their parents,” he said.

Culture Club – preschool, founded by a couple Silky and Nikhil Mozika, works towards promoting holistic development of children by encouraging experiential learning opportunities. The organisers stated that the event also aims to address concerns around sedentary lifestyles by bringing children back to outdoor play in a structured yet enjoyable format.

The organisers added that every child completing the course will be recognised, reinforcing the idea that participation and effort are more important than winning a competition.
