Guwahati delivered a commanding performance to defeat Chirang by a massive 262 runs in a Group B match of the 3rd Pulin Das U-14 Inter District Cricket Tournament 2025-26, held at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground in Fulung, North Guwahati.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Guwahati posted a formidable total of 320 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs. The innings was headlined by a blistering knock from Jugal Kishore Kalita, who smashed an impressive 155 runs off just 72 balls, including 12 sixes and 15 boundaries.
He was well supported by Tanveer Islam, who scored a quickfire 47 off 36 balls, while Dhritiman Kumar added a valuable 40 off 32 deliveries. Rakesh Deka also chipped in with 19 runs.
For Chirang, Arpan Ray was the standout bowler with figures of 5 wickets for 47 runs, while Ashique Ali picked up 2 wickets.
In reply, Chirang struggled against a disciplined Guwahati bowling attack and were bowled out for just 58 runs in 35 overs. Sohom was the top scorer with 11 runs.
Neerav Jain led the bowling attack brilliantly with figures of 4 wickets for just 7 runs. Hriday Jyoti Kalita claimed 3 wickets for 12 runs, while Tanveer Islam added 2 wickets to his all-round performance.
With this emphatic win, Guwahati secured a dominant position in Group B of the tournament.
