Guardian Ministers and their secretaries to oversee vaccination process in districts

Guwahati, June 19 (NKTV): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took a detailed review of the preparedness made by the district administrations in view of the enhanced vaccination campaign in the state to be rolled out on June 21.

Taking stock of the preparedness of the vaccination campaign through video conference with the DCs, SPs, Joint Directors of Health Services and other stakeholders, CM Sarma said that in view of the enhanced vaccination programme under which three lakh people in the state will receive vaccine doses everyday, the district administrations should ramp up the matching infrastructure to make the campaign a success.

He also asked Guardian Ministers and their secretaries to oversee vaccination process in their respective districts.

The CM asked the Mission Director National Health Mission Dr Lakshmanan S. to ensure adequate supply of vaccination doses to far flung districts. He also asked the concerned authority of the Health Department to provide Rs 100 to the paramedical staff engaged in vaccination for their transportation. He also asked the DCs to ensure proper food for them.

It may also be noted that there will be two thousand vaccination centres in the state. In the city areas, there will be two shifts for vaccination starting from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with one hour lunch break; in rural areas, vaccination will be given from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
