GSA celebrates 68 Years of sporting legacy
The 68th Foundation Day of the Guwahati Sports Association was observed with due dignity and solemnity on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Judges’ Field, reaffirming the institution’s enduring legacy in the promotion of sports.
The commemorative programme began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Association’s flag, setting a respectful tone for the occasion. This was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolising the celebration of 68 years of the Association’s contribution to the sporting landscape of the region.
On the occasion, the President of the Association, Paresh Chandra Das, extended his warm greetings and felicitations to all members. In his address, he paid rich tributes to the former Presidents, Honorary General Secretaries, and esteemed members, acknowledging their invaluable services, dedication, and lasting contributions to the growth and legacy of the Association.
The observance saw the participation of members and well-wishers, reflecting a strong sense of unity and tradition. The gathering underscored the continued commitment of the Association towards nurturing and developing sports in the region.
The event, held a day earlier, once again highlighted the pivotal role played by the Guwahati Sports Association in shaping the city’s sporting culture and inspiring future generations.
