Again Ganja smuggler was encountered in Kokrajhar early today morning by the Police. The incident took place near Bhaoraguri under Gossaigaon police station. Police detected a truck bound for Bihar from Tripura at Srirampur interstate check gate and seized a weighing of 350 Kgs along with arresting two persons for involvement with Ganja smuggling.
One of two arrested persons, who was identified as Suman Namo was encountered in police firing while he was trying to flee after snatching a gun from a police officer.
Later, police have resorted to firing on him and he received bullet injuries. He was first admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital, later referred to Barpeta medical college for treatment. Another arrested person was identified as Rahul Sarkar (20).
