The much-awaited two-day literary and cultural festival “Echoes of the North East” was inaugurated today, celebrating the rich heritage, diverse voices, and vibrant traditions of the region. The festival opened on a soulful note with the resonant strains of Borgeet, Assam’s classical devotional music, setting a reverent and inspiring tone for the event.

The inauguration was marked by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by eminent personalities including noted author Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora, Prof. Pradip Jyoti Mahanta, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice Chancellor of Guwahati University, Prof. Utpal Sarma, Dr. K. Sreenivasarao, Senior Advisor at Prabha Khaitan Foundation, and Anindita Chatterjee, Executive Trustee of the Foundation.
Organised by the Prabha Khaitan Foundation and Oil India Limited, in association with Gauhati University, the festival promises two days of engaging discussions, literary dialogues, and cultural showcases that highlight the unique narratives of the North East.
“Echoes of the North East” aims to serve as a vibrant platform for writers, thinkers, and artists to come together and celebrate the spirit of the region through literature and culture.
