Dubai Airports has officially announced the reopening of check-in procedures at Terminal 3 for Emirates and Flydubai flights. This decision comes after a significant surge in passenger traffic at the departure hall.

Majed Al Joker, the Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, confirmed that Dubai International Airport is poised for a full return to normal operations within the next 24 hours. Al Joker highlighted the gradual normalization already in progress at Terminals 1 and 3, leading to smoother passenger flow. He emphasized passenger safety as the top priority, expressing appreciation for the collaborative efforts of airport personnel, partners, and airlines in expediting the return to normal operations and assisting impacted travelers.

Flydubai has also announced the resumption of operations from both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB). However, passengers are advised to expect delays in flight schedules due to the recent disruptions. Emirates uses Dubai as a hub to connect transiting passengers on intercontinental flights around the world. Dubai International retained its title as the world’s busiest international airport for international travel, for the 10th year running.

The United Arab Emirates has been hit by an unprecedented downpour on Monday and Tuesday, receiving more rain in the past few days than it typically sees in a year. These torrential rains have caused widespread travel disruption, particularly at Dubai International Airport. The major airport was forced to shut down operations for a period due to flooding, and many passengers missed their flights.
