Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket has launched dedicated Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement OPD services at Apeksha Hospital in Dibrugarh, Assam, with the aim of improving access to specialised orthopaedic care in Upper Assam and nearby regions.
The OPD services were inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Sujoy Bhattacharjee, Chairman and Chief – Robotic Joint Replacement at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. As part of the initiative, Dr. Bhattacharjee will be available for consultations and follow-up visits at Apeksha Hospital on the second Saturday of every month.
Orthopaedics and joint replacement have emerged as rapidly advancing medical fields in India, addressing conditions such as arthritis, joint deformities, sports-related injuries and age-related joint degeneration. The increasing use of robotic-assisted surgical techniques has contributed to improved precision, reduced recovery time and better post-surgical outcomes for patients.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Sujoy Bhattacharjee said that advancements in robotic-assisted joint replacement have significantly changed patient recovery timelines. He noted that many patients undergoing knee replacement procedures are now able to walk on the same day of surgery and are discharged within two days, depending on their condition.
Dr. Bhattacharjee also highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and timely intervention in managing joint-related disorders. According to him, identifying problems at an early stage can help prevent further joint damage and reduce the need for complex surgical procedures.
The newly launched OPD services are expected to provide patients in Dibrugarh and surrounding areas direct access to specialised orthopaedic consultations, treatment planning and follow-up care without the need to travel outside the state.
Hospital officials stated that the initiative reflects Max Super Speciality Hospital’s effort to extend advanced healthcare services to the Northeast, with a focus on early diagnosis, evidence-based treatment and improved patient outcomes.
