Canada, UAE suspends flights from India due to worsening pandemic situation

After India reported a global record of 314,000 fresh Covid-19 positive cases in the previous 24-hours Indian flights have been banned to the UAE and Canada.

On 22nd April, the Canadian Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said that flights from India and Pakistan has been banned for 30 days due the worsening pandemic situation in the region.

Even the United Arab Emirates has barred the entry of Indian travellers for 10 days from 25th April to 4th May. However, Indian passengers will be able to enter UAE if they have stayed in some other country for a period of 14 days.

“However UAE nationals, Diplomatic Passport Holders & & Official Passport Holders or those holding an Official Delegation Letter are exempted from the UAE entry restriction. These passengers will be subject to acceptance and quarantine conditions,” informed an Etihad spokesperson.

Earlier, UK had also restricted travel of Indian passengers due to the pandemic situation.
