The Balipara Foundation proudly announces the Naturenomics Collective 2025, a series of landmark programmes uniting scientists, policymakers, communities, students, youth, Government and thought leaders in driving regenerative development across the Eastern Himalaya. Anchored in the Foundation’s vision of harmonizing ecology and economy through the principle of Naturenomics, the Collective will unfold through a continuum of learning, collaboration, and celebration, from research to recognition.
The Collective will commence with the Naturenomics Research Conclave, in collaboration with Gauhati University, on 14–15 November 2025. The Conclave will serve as a platform for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to present innovative insights, case studies, and data-driven solutions that advance ecological resilience and community well-being in the Eastern Himalaya. The same will also feature a “Call for Research Abstracts and Idea Pitches”, inviting young researchers and students to share breakthrough concepts and field-based innovations that contribute to building regenerative landscapes.
The momentum will continue with the 13th Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum (EHNF) on 10–11 December 2025, themed “The Future of the Third Pole and the Eastern Himalaya (Himsagar).” The theme will explore the intricate linkages between the region’s water systems, forests, and climate, positioning the Eastern Himalaya as the lifeline of Asia’s ecological and economic stability. It will delve into the urgent need for collaborative conservation and adaptive policies to safeguard the Third Pole, the world’s water tower, against the accelerating impacts of climate change.
This year, the Forum partners with leading universities across Assam – IIT Guwahati, Cotton University, Royal Global University, and Gauhati University, each steering dialogues on Energy and Water, Forests and Biodiversity, Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Land Futures, respectively. These collaborations aim to strengthen the bridge between academia, policy, and practice, empowering research-led action and youth participation in shaping regenerative solutions for the Eastern Himalaya.
Over the past 12 years, the Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum has transformed into a global thought leadership platform bridging ecology, economy, and equity uniting governments, academia, civil society, and indigenous voices to shape collective pathways for climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and biodiversity restoration.
Culminating on 11 December 2025, the Balipara Foundation Awards (BFA) will celebrate and honour grassroots champions and community leaders who exemplify the spirit of Naturenomics through their work in habitat restoration, livelihood innovation, and cultural preservation across the Eastern Himalaya. Over the past 12 years, the Balipara Foundation Awards have recognised 167 Earth Heroes from across the region – individuals and communities whose extraordinary contributions continue to inspire global conservation action.
Together, these interconnected programmes will embody the Balipara Foundation’s mission to bridge science, policy, and community action, fostering a shared vision for a regenerative Eastern Himalaya where nature and people thrive in balance.
