Assam Has Become Major Healthcare Hub in Northeast Under BJP Government : Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said, Assam has transformed into a major healthcare hub for the Northeastern region over the last 10 years of BJP led government reducing the need for residents to travel to outside the region for treatment. Shah was addressing a large gathering at Guwahati on the occasion of foundation laying and inauguration of various development projects related to health sector. The Home Minister said, Assam is the first state in India to introduce proton therapy machine within the public health care system and has made world class cancer treatment facilities.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects worth over 2090 Crore rupees in Guwahati today. The Home Minister inaugurated the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati along with Cancer Care Centres of Golaghat and Tinsukia. Shah criticized the Congress party for negligence of health sector of the State during their 15 years of rule. He also criticized the LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress party for their protest at the India AI summit at Delhi.
Shah also virtually laid foundation stones Super speciality Hospital at Diphu Medical College and Hospital, Super speciality Hospital at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, Super speciality Hospital at Barpeta Medical College and Hospital, Abhayapuri District Hospital and Swastha Bhawan at Guwahati. The Home Minister will also address BJP youth wing in Guwahati.
