Assam down town University Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026, Honours Inspiring Self-Made Women Achievers
Assam down town University (AdtU) celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 by honouring a group of remarkable self-made women achievers from different walks of life who have made significant contributions to society through their dedication, courage, and leadership.
The event recognised women from fields such as public service, entrepreneurship, community development, literature, grassroots welfare, and sports, highlighting their inspiring journeys and their role in empowering communities.
The honoured achievers included *Smt. Purabi Saikia Mahanta (Mangaldoi), Creative Entrepreneur; **Smt. Tulika Gogoi Swargiary (Chandrapur), Entrepreneur & Community Leader; **Smt. Monimala Rabha (Morigaon), Anganwadi Worker; **Smt. Bijoya Das (Hatigaon), Inspector, Assam Police; **Smt. Jumti Kakoti (Milanpur), Food Entrepreneur; **Smt. Mommy Nath (Morigaon), Entrepreneur, Social Worker & Acclaimed Assamese Author; and **Smt. Mitali Upadhaya (Kalapahar, Guwahati)*, Martial Artist. Through this celebration, AdtU reaffirmed its commitment to recognising and supporting women who are creating positive change and inspiring future generations through their achievements and service to society.
