Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the new Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat Building, a Digital Museum and the Artificial Intelligence-powered digital information system ‘ALISA – AI for Legislative Intelligence System of Assam’ within the premises of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

The 17-storey Secretariat Building, including the ground floor, has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Spread over approximately 8,000 square metres, the building will be operated through a centralized Building Management System (BMS), enabling control of electrical and other technical installations on different floors from a single location.

The Digital Museum has been designed with multiple galleries showcasing the pivotal role of the Assam Legislative Assembly in shaping the State’s political landscape, significant milestones in Assam’s democratic journey and the contributions of distinguished leaders in strengthening the State’s democratic, social and cultural fabric.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister formally launched ‘ALISA – AI for Legislative Intelligence System of Assam’ at the Central Hall of the Assembly. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, the system enables rapid analysis and retrieval of information and statistics from the Assembly’s extensive repository, including legislative records and decisions spanning nearly a century. The platform provides information in Assamese, Bodo, Hindi and English.

Among those present on the occasion were Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Deputy Speaker Dr. Numal Momin, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Public Health Engineering Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare Minister Rupesh Gowala and Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, along with several other dignitaries.
