Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Alleges Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s Wife Had Links With Pakistani Agent

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday made serious allegations against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and his wife Elizabeth, claiming they had close connections with Pakistani national Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, whom Sarma described as a “Pakistani agent.”

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, the Chief Minister said Sheikh visited India 13 times between 2010 and 2013 and was involved in promoting an “anti-India narrative” at the global level.

Continuing his attack on Gogoi over alleged links with Pakistan, Sarma claimed that a Pakistani firm had employed Elizabeth, who is British by nationality, before transferring her to India.

The Chief Minister further alleged that Elizabeth’s salary was paid by Sheikh and that she was assigned to gather sensitive information related to India.

Sarma also claimed that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, Elizabeth collected information from Intelligence Bureau (IB) sources regarding climate action policies and passed it on to Sheikh.

The Congress party and Gaurav Gogoi have not yet responded to these allegations.
