Ambubachi Mela cancelled for 2021 | Kamakhya

Guwahati, June 04 (NKTV): For another consecutive year, the Ambubachi Mela at Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati has been cancelled owing to the ongoing Covid pandemic in the state of Assam.

The management committee of Kamakhya Temple has informed that the temple shall remain closed for devotees till June 30, 2021.

It may be mentioned here that this year, the mela shall commence from the 22nd of June. Last year too, the Ambubachi Mela was cancelled because of Covid-19.

“We shall perform all rituals just like last year. However, entry of devotees, sadhus and sanyasis are strictly prohibited” the committee informed.
