Major Police Raids at NIOS Examination Centres in Tinsukia; Several Detained, Including Principals
A sensational incident has come to light in Tinsukia in connection with NIOS examinations. Police conducted major raids at two examination centres in the district following allegations of malpractice in exchange for money.
The raids were carried out at Bhawati Bhagwan DAV Shiksha Niketan in Balugada and Bardhaman English Academy School in N-Pukhuri. During the operation, police detained the principals of both centres, Raghav Prasad Rai and Ajit Jain, along with several teachers and students.
During the raids, police also seized laptops, printers and several other objectionable materials. The hours-long operation reportedly led to the detention of several individuals suspected to be linked to a larger network associated with NIOS.
However, police have not yet issued any official statement regarding the incident.
