Some Peace Amid Tears: What Did the Bharali Family Say Following Ghankanta’s Encounter?
The members of the grief-stricken Bharali family have reacted following the news of the death of Ghankanta Gogoi, the prime accused in the gruesome murder of five people at Hotel Bilas Inn in Guwahati, in a police encounter. Despite their profound grief, family members, including Ankita Bharali, the eldest daughter of the deceased Bhudev Bharali, said that the news had brought them some emotional relief.
Speaking to the media, Ankita Bharali became emotional as she said that her family had been waiting for justice for a long time. Although the family is still struggling to cope with the loss of her father, aunt, elder brother and sister-in-law, the latest development has brought them some relief.
“We wanted justice, and we feel we have received justice. Now, we will have to spend the rest of our lives cherishing their beautiful memories,” Ankita said. She also expressed hope that the souls of her deceased family members would finally find peace.
Meanwhile, Tunglata Bharali, the mother of the deceased Bhudev Bharali and Helena Bharali, who is above 80 years of age, also reacted to the news of Ghankanta Gogoi’s death. Stating that she felt as though justice had been served, she expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. The elderly woman also thanked the people of Assam for standing by the Bharali family during this difficult period.
On the other hand, Rinika’s brother also expressed his gratitude to the Assam Police and the Assam Government. He said that the family members had been waiting for such news.
He further informed that the two young children of the family are now gradually returning to a more normal state compared to earlier. The children will be taken to their ancestral home in Barpeta tomorrow. Following the completion of the Shraddha rituals there, the family will collectively decide where the two children will stay.
It may be mentioned that the gruesome murder case had sent shockwaves across Assam, triggering widespread grief and public outrage. Having lost their loved ones, the bereaved families are now trying to move forward with their lives while carrying the memories of those they lost.
