Elephant safaris at Kaziranga National Park are set to reopen for tourists from the first week of November, offering visitors another opportunity to explore the park’s rich wildlife and natural beauty.
Ahead of the reopening, health check-ups for privately owned elephants are being conducted in the Bagori range of the national park. Around 40 elephants have been brought from different parts of Assam for the 2026–27 tourist season.
Veterinarians have reported that most of the elephants examined so far are in good health. Along with medical examinations, the authorities will also verify the necessary documents and records of the elephants before allowing them to participate in safari operations.
Tourists will be able to enjoy elephant safaris using privately owned elephants in the Bagori range. Meanwhile, safaris using departmental elephants will operate in the Kohora range.
The upcoming reopening is expected to provide tourists with another way to experience Kaziranga’s unique wildlife and landscape during the new tourism season.
