Delhi Cop Alleges Protesters Assaulted Him During Rahul Gandhi’s Detention
A Delhi Police constable, Ankit Kasana, has alleged that 30–35 protesters assaulted him during the Opposition’s protest near Jantar Mantar on Wednesday, when police were detaining Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Kasana claimed that protesters tore his uniform, scratched him and one person bit his hand. He was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for medical examination.
Delhi Police may register an FIR following the medical examination. The allegations have not been independently verified, and the protesters’ response is awaited.
