Jorhat Police Arrest Youth for Assaulting Girlfriend
Jorhat Police have arrested a youth identified as Biswajit Doley for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend on the banks of the Brahmaputra in Jorhat on Monday.
According to police, the incident took place when the accused allegedly physically assaulted the woman on the riverbank. Following the incident, Jorhat Police registered a case on their own initiative.
Biswajit Doley was arrested under Section 117/74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the case.
The accused is currently being interrogated at Jorhat Sadar Police Station as police continue their investigation into the incident.
