The Dibrugarh Warriors franchise of the Assam Premier League (APL) officially unveiled its team jersey ahead of the upcoming season. Marking another major milestone in their journey, the franchise also announced Saahil Jain as Captain, with Jitumoni Kalita as Vice-Captain of the team.
The event was attended by Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Rameswar Teli and Dr. Rupam Hazarika along with Franchise owner Mr. Arun Kumar Rai, alongside the head coach and support staff, gathered to unveil the jersey and share their vision for the team’s debut campaign.
Speaking at the launch, newly appointed Captain Saahil Jain shared his excitement about taking on the role, “Stepping up as Captain for Dibrugarh Warriors is a huge honor for me. Having Jitumoni alongside me in leadership makes this journey even more special. We have got a fantastic group of players who are hungry to perform, and our goal is simple play hard, play as a team and give our supporters plenty to cheer about.”
Reflecting on the franchise’s broader mission for cricket in the state, Owner Mr. Arun Kumar Rai said: “At the end of the day, Dibrugarh Warriors is about giving local talent a stage where they can truly showcase what they are capable of. We’re glad to contribute to Assam’s growing cricket community and we want to build something that fans across the region can feel genuinely proud to back, we thank Assam Cricket Association and Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for this initiative.”
