India’s Mandengbam Jadumani Singh stormed into the men’s 55kg boxing quarterfinals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games with a commanding 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Pakistan’s Rehman Sumama in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

The Indian boxer dominated the three-round contest with sharp combinations, disciplined defence and slick footwork, leaving little room for his opponent to make an impact. All five judges awarded the bout to Jadumani, underlining his superiority throughout.

According to the official scorecard, three judges scored the contest 30-27, while the remaining two returned 29-28 verdicts in favour of the Indian.

The victory followed another convincing 5-0 unanimous decision over Scotland’s Cullen in the Round of 32, giving Jadumani back-to-back clean-sweep wins in Glasgow.

Jadumani will next compete in the quarterfinals on July 28 at 7:45 p.m. local time, where he will face the winner of the Round of 16 clash between Zambia and South Africa for a place in the semifinals.

With two dominant victories to begin his campaign, Jadumani has emerged as one of India’s strongest medal contenders in the men’s 55kg division as the boxing competition enters the business end.
