Oath-Taking Ceremony of New Assam Government on May 12 at Khanapara; PM Modi to Attend

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Assam Government will be held on 12 May at Khanapara. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to grace the occasion as the chief guest.

Announcing the details, Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia said that Prime Minister Modi will arrive at Guwahati International Airport at 10:15 AM and proceed to Narengi Helipad. He will attend the oath-taking ceremony at 11:00 AM.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states, and several Union Ministers are also expected to attend the programme.

The state administration has made elaborate arrangements for the event. A massive pandal has been erected at Khanapara, and several senior leaders have been assigned specific responsibilities to ensure smooth conduct. Authorities are expecting a gathering of several lakh people.

On 10 May, a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party will be held at the state party office. Speaking on the occasion, Dilip Saikia said, “In the coming five years, we will serve the people of Assam with even greater dedication and sincerity than before.”

On Thursday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, accompanied by several newly elected MLAs, reviewed the preparations for the oath-taking ceremony at the venue.

The grand oath-taking event is being seen as a significant show of strength by the NDA alliance in Assam.
