ASSAM : Amritpal Singh Re-Arrested by Punjab Police After NSA Custody Ends
Amritpal Singh, the pro-Khalistani leader, has been re-arrested by Punjab Police.
His custody under the National Security Act (NSA) expired on Wednesday. He was re-arrested today in connection with Case No. 39/2023 registered at Ajnala Police Station.
Amritpal Singh will remain in Punjab Police custody for the next two days. He was brought from Dibrugarh Central Jail to Dibrugarh Sadar Police Station, where tight security arrangements have been put in place.
A team of Punjab Police had been camping in Dibrugarh since Wednesday in preparation for his transfer.
This development comes amid heightened security measures following the end of his NSA detention period.
