Shyamkanu Mahanta’s Bail Plea Verdict on April 30
The fast-track court in Guwahati today resumed the hearing on the bail petition of Shyamkanu Mahanta, an accused in the sensational Jubin murder case. The hearing is scheduled to conclude on April 30 with the pronouncement of the order.
During the hearing, Shyamkanu Mahanta’s lawyers also filed an application seeking the release of items seized from him. Senior advocate Pran Bora argued on behalf of Shyamkanu Mahanta in the court, while advocate Rajdeep Banerjee from Kolkata presented arguments through video conference.
Meanwhile, the lawyer of co-accused Siddhartha also filed a bail petition today. The court will hear Siddhartha’s bail petition tomorrow.
The government side, led by Public Prosecutor Ziaur Kamar along with a team of lawyers, presented counter arguments against the bail pleas.
The court is expected to deliver its verdict on Shyamkanu Mahanta’s bail petition on April 30.
