GSA Unveils GPL 2025; ₹25 Lakh Prize Pool Announced
The Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) has officially announced the commencement of the 3rd Protech Guwahati Premier Football League 2025, set to take place from December 2 to December 21 at Judges’ Field in Guwahati. The widely anticipated tournament will see twelve top football teams from across the region battle for supremacy in one of the northeast’s most competitive football championships.
The league will feature two matches daily, with the first kickoff at 1:30 PM followed by the second at 4:30 PM.
Twelve Teams, Two Groups
The participating teams have been divided into two groups:
Group A: Pride East Mavericks, Oil India FC, DBI SC, ASEB Sports Club, Sunrise AC, and SAI Guwahati.
Group B: Numaligarh Refinery Limited, North East United FC, Assam Police, North East Frontier Railway SA, United Chirang Duar FC, and FC Green Valley.
Football fans can expect high-octane encounters as established clubs and emerging sides clash for one of the region’s most prestigious titles.
Trophy Unveiled at Press Meet
In a press conference held ahead of the tournament, the winners’ and runners-up trophies were unveiled by GSA President Paresh Chandra Das, Hony General Secretary Devajit Saikia, and Sports Secretary (Football) L. Pranab Singh. The officials expressed optimism about the growing popularity of the league and highlighted GSA’s commitment to developing football at the grassroots and professional levels.
Prize Money Worth ₹25 Lakhs
This year’s edition features a total prize pool of ₹25 lakh, with
₹15 lakh for the champions,
₹7 lakh for the runners-up, and
₹1.5 lakh each for the two losing semi-finalists.
Additionally, several other attractive prizes and individual awards will be presented.
