The 145th edition of the US Open tennis kicks off today at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
In the men’s singles, world No.1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner of Italy will lead the charge, alongside No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, four-time US Open winner Novak Djokovic, and Germany’s Alexander Zverev.
On the women’s side, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka looks to defend her 2024 title, with world No.1 Iga Swiatek, 2023 champion Coco Gauff, and other top contenders like Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, and Elena Rybakina all looking to make their mark.
In first-round action today, in the men’s singles, Ben Shelton will face Ignacio Buse, while Emma Raducanu meets Ena Shibahara. Matches will start at 8:30 PM IST and 11 AM local time in New York.
