3rd GSA Youth & Kids League 2025 Begins in Guwahati

The 3rd edition of the GSA Youth and Kids League 2025 kicked off with much enthusiasm at Nehru Stadium and Judges’ Field on Friday. Organised by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) in collaboration with North East United FC, the tournament has brought together more than 115 teams across different age groups, making it one of the biggest grassroots football events in the region.

The league, to be played on weekends and holidays, features categories from Under-7 to Under-19, offering a platform for hundreds of budding footballers to showcase their skills and passion for the game.

Speaking on the occasion, GSA President Paresh Chandra Das said, “The Youth and Kids League is a crucial step in promoting football at the grassroots level. We’re proud to provide young athletes with the opportunity to grow, compete, and fall in love with the game.”

The opening day witnessed a flurry of high-scoring encounters across both venues.

At Judges’ Field, We Sports (U-7) thrashed The Elite FCC 4–0, while Greenfield beat Guwahati City 9–0. In the U-9 section, Northeast United FC (White) hammered The Elite FCC 8–0, and Greenfield blanked Guwahati United FC 7–0.

The U-11 category produced some lopsided results, with APRO Grassroots FCC defeating We Sports-B 20–0 and Narengi Krira Santha registering a massive 16–0 win over Guwahati United FC-A. Northeast United FC-White also impressed with an 8–0 win against Kaziranga SC-B.

In the U-13 group, Guwahati United FC (B) recorded the day’s biggest win, crushing Forza Football Academy 19–0, while Akash FC outclassed APRO Grassroots FCC 9–0.

The U-15 matches saw Rajbari Athletic Club dominate with a 12–0 victory over Narengi Krira Santha, while Northeast United FC-Red edged their White counterparts 3–1.

At Nehru Stadium, Kaziranga Sports Club ran riot in the U-17 section with a 12–0 win over We Sports, and Guwahati City FC narrowly beat Gauhati Town Club 1–0. In the U-19 category, Northeast United FC crushed Guwahati City FC (B) 7–0, while Greenfield FC registered a comfortable 3–0 win over Rajbari Athletic Club.

With electrifying performances and enthusiastic participation, the league promises to deliver weeks of exciting football action for players, coaches, and fans alike. GSA has urged the people of Guwahati to come forward and support the young talents as they take their first steps towards a bright footballing future.
