Guwahati, July 19 (NKTV): Villagers of Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh came out to construct a wire rope suspension bridge within four days after the highway collapsed due to landslide.

The bridge has been constructed along the side of recently collapsed road portion of Pangin-Pasighat Highway near Rottung.

The bridge will now shorten the travel time of commuters; they need not climb the hilly track that takes around one hour to reach the other side, Lelek Bridge Construction Committee chairman Tagum Sitang said.

Sitang said that the authority, including district administration and the highway department, had objected construction of any structure nearby the block point initially but seeing the agony of the commuters, they had to initiate construction of the bridge.
