Three employees of ONGC kidnapped from Sivasagar, Assam

Three employees of the the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) have been abducted by unknown armed miscreants on 21st April. The kidnapped employees have been identified as junior technicians (production) Mohini Mohan Gogoi and Ritul Saikia, and junior engineering assistant (production), Alakesh Saikia. The three have been working at an ONGC workover rig within Lakwa Tea Estate.

ONGC, breaking the news on Twitter, wrote, “The abducted employees were taken by the miscreants in an operational vehicle belonging to ONGC. Later, the vehicle was found abandoned near the Nimonagarh jungles close to the Assam-Nagaland border.”

A complain has been lodged at the local police station, and senior officials of Assam Police is looking into the matter.

Although involvement of the banned outfit ULFA-I has been suspected, no confirmed information of the kidnappers have been found till now.
