Three Dead Bodies Recovered from Different Parts of Guwahati on the Same Day
In a shocking incident, three dead bodies were recovered from different locations in Guwahati on Tuesday.
In the first incident, the body of a man was recovered from the Basistha river in the morning. The deceased has been identified as Akhtar Ali from Notboma. He had been missing since April 19. Police suspect that the body may have been carried by the current from a connecting drain into the river.
In the second incident, the body of a young man was recovered from the Mora Bharalu river at Jyotikuchi-Datalpara area. The deceased has been identified as Ashim Kalita, who was also reported missing since April 19.
In yet another case, the body of another young man was recovered from the Pamohi river. Police suspect that the youth may have been murdered by miscreants. His identity is yet to be ascertained.
These back-to-back recoveries of dead bodies have created a sense of alarm in the city, especially as artificial flooding continues to affect several parts of Guwahati.
