Theft and robbery are on the rise in Guwahati, and theft from ATMs are common occurences. However, one thief went a step ahead and dared to loot the ATM near the Assam Police Headquarters at Ulubari, Guwahati.
Tanking chance of the night curfew, one Kuldeep Nath was caught red-handed while attempting to steal cash from the State BAnk ATM near the DGP Office, a high profile security zone.
The thief was immediately arrested by Paltan Bazzar police. Police has also seized a car bearing number plate AS-01-AU-2600 and along with some documents that are yet to be checked.
