Sikkim open for fully vaccinated tourists

Guwahati, July 5 (NKTV): The Government of Sikkim has recently announced that fully vaccinated tourists can enter the state from July 05, 2021. In order to do so, people will just have to show their vaccination certificates.

The state government lifted the temporary ban on the entry of visitors on Sunday, as a result of which people who have taken bot doses of Covid vaccine can enter the state. It may be mentioned here that tourists were banned from visiting Sikkim since March this year.

The Home Department, Government of Sikkim in a notification stated that fully vaccinated tourists can enter through Rangpo in East Sikkim and Melli in South Sikkim after exhibiting their vaccination certificates at check-gates. The state government also allowed hotels, guest houses and homestays to operate at 50 per cent capacity from Monday with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
